Join us for a tour of the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge from an engineers perspective. The tour will be led by John Carty and Becca Ruiz of VHB and Eric Vugteveen of Moffatt & Nichol.
In 2012, the Richmond City Council adopted the Richmond Riverfront Plan, developed by Hargreaves and Associates, as part of the City’s Master Plan and Downtown Plan. The plan envisioned developing a unified, cohesive recreational space on both sides of the James River, as well as connections across the river. The implementation of the overall plan has begun with the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge, formerly known as the Brown’s Island Dam Walk. As a part of the Hargreaves Associates team, VHB worked with structural engineer Moffatt & Nichol to design a safe and attractive shared-use path across the James River, retaining as much of the historic structure as possible. Join us on May 25 at 3 PM to learn more!
Following the tour, we will host a happy hour social at Legend Brewing Co. from 4 - 6 PM.
