| ACEC Virginia Annual Conference |
|
Join us June 21-23 for the 2012 Annual Conference at Wintergreen Resort to hear Richard Coughlan, Ph.D., of the University of Richmond Robins School of Business. He will be speaking on "Successful Negotiations." Today’s most successful leaders know the importance and power of strong negotiation skills. They view conversations with colleagues, suppliers and business partners as joint problem-solving endeavors. Their preparation time is tightly focused on the gathering and organizing of relevant information and the time they spend engaged in negotiations is more productive and more likely to lead to positive outcomes for them and their negotiation partners. In this interactive session, participants will learn what separates skilled negotiators from average negotiators and come away with a stronger understanding of the negotiations process. Coughlan is the senior associate dean of the Robins School, where he has been a member of the management faculty since 1998. Over the last 15 years, he's taught courses on negotiations, decision-making and corporate values to audiences ranging from undergraduates to senior executives. Prior to graduate school, he spent five years in the hospitality industry, including more than three years on the management team of The Pebble Beach Resorts. Coughlan’s views on business appear regularly in national media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, BusinessWeek and The Washington Post. ACEC Virginia has a group rate for the Annual Conference. You may call the Wintergreen Resort at (800) 611-6888 (dedicated line for groups) and let them know you are with ACEC Virginia.
