• ACEC/VA Celebrates
    50 Years Of Service

  • ACEC Virginia was established in 1967 and incorporated in 1968 to promote the professional and economic welfare of consulting engineers in the Commonwealth. Large or small, engineering firms often face the same business issues such as health insurance, human resource needs, meeting PDH requirements, best business practices, and the need for laws conducive to maintaining a thriving engineering industry in Virginia. Over the past 50 years, engineering firms have turned to ACEC Virginia for business support, networking and advocacy. The organization is made up of 84 independent engineering firms and 14 affiliate members, all representing more than 3,000 employees throughout the state.

From three conferences per year to over 30 networking events per year, the transition from 1967 to 2017 has been a tremendous one in regard to the opportunities for member firms to network. Additions like the annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala, the Transportation Reception, the Virginia Engineers Conference, and most recently the Transportation Round-Robin has turned ACEC Virginia into a one-stop-shop for engineering firms in the Commonwealth.

Over the course of the next year, we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary and want to extend a personal invitation to all our member firms, past award recipients and the Virginia engineering community to join us! Member firms will see a new and improved ACEC Virginia logo to commemorate the occasion. The year of celebration will include a special presentation during the 2018 Engineering Excellence Awards and will culminate at the 2018 Annual Conference at the Homestead. We hope you can join us!
